This is the future. A new world order. A single religion to rule them all.
Allegiance. Unbelievers slain. In Christ's holy name. Sing the praises of your Christian king.
"Hallelujah. The apocalypse. He shall return. The rapture nears."
Tyranny! For the Bible tells me so. March with us in unison. We desire the death of the godless soul. Hold him. Let us question his beliefs. "For whom do you take to a knee?" "To neither God nor man, I believe in me."
Shatter his knees and force him to bow. What shall the unbeliever believe now? Hate the sinner and punish his sin. Cast him into the lions' den!
Look to the clouds. A great trumpet sounds. On a white horse, and adorn in pelts our Lord God, he rides. From heaven to earth, through the glory of this crimson sky.
With a sword drawn, he prepares for rapture. The Christian saints now bow before their holy master. Millions of throats slit like sheep in the pasture. Only one is spared: the innocent baby born in rapture.
A single child born alone to fucking suffer! For the transgressions of his mother and his father. God ponders, "could man really be inherently vile?" As he places mankind's hope of survival in a single child.
There is no fucking hope.

Swiss Melodic Black / Death Metal. I never wrote anything about this & given that I listen to it time & again, I really should! This is incredibly technical & amazingy good! I am having multiple eargasms & goosebumps for the entire duration of the album! Plus they have a new album coming out in a couple of months that I cannot wait for! A criminally underrated band... Stortregn rule! Highly recommended!!!

On ne pourra certainement pas reprocher à Subnuba de vouloir aller trop vite : si le groupe annonçait la sortie prochaine d'un album avec le single Ascending Light, Distant Pixel ne sortira que trois ans plus tard. Et à l'écoute de cette pépite, je dirai qu'on ne pourra pas reprocher grand-chose à Subnuba tout court. Le trio a travaillé d'arrache-pied et ça s'entend : le death metal technique est exceptionnel, aussi bourrin que fantastique avec ses arpèges électroniques de science-fiction !

An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
