Beneath the catacombs. An ancient evil home. The dwelling place of millions of tormented souls. Now come with me through tunnels deep and you shall see the beast that rules this underworld.
With goat-like horns and eyes of fire, the great beast acts out all of his perverse desires. He is the serpent Leviathan. The horde of the dead chant his name in unison.
This, my blood, raining down like fire. I scourge the earth and drain its lifeblood into my own veins. This, my flesh: take and eat it all. Forbidden, putrid flesh. Clawing at their throats, they writhe and fall.
Bow before me. I am your God now.
Ye who wallow in willful ignorance.
I mock your creed, piss in the wounds of your dying savior, and wipe my ass with your sacred texts.
Pillage the heavens. Prepare them for the reckoning.

Swiss Melodic Black / Death Metal. I never wrote anything about this & given that I listen to it time & again, I really should! This is incredibly technical & amazingy good! I am having multiple eargasms & goosebumps for the entire duration of the album! Plus they have a new album coming out in a couple of months that I cannot wait for! A criminally underrated band... Stortregn rule! Highly recommended!!!

On ne pourra certainement pas reprocher à Subnuba de vouloir aller trop vite : si le groupe annonçait la sortie prochaine d'un album avec le single Ascending Light, Distant Pixel ne sortira que trois ans plus tard. Et à l'écoute de cette pépite, je dirai qu'on ne pourra pas reprocher grand-chose à Subnuba tout court. Le trio a travaillé d'arrache-pied et ça s'entend : le death metal technique est exceptionnel, aussi bourrin que fantastique avec ses arpèges électroniques de science-fiction !

An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
